Renmark Accommodation

Accommodation in Renmark

The Murray River town of Renmark, in the fruitful Riverland area of South Australia, is a 3 hour drive North-East of Adelaide. The town has wide, elegant streets and a great variety of accommodation, and is popular with family holiday–makers, cruising past the dramatic cliffs bordering the river in this region, via houseboat.

Accommodation options range from the luxurious Country Club and the magnificent Renmark Hotel, to self-contained cottages, holiday homes, homestays and a Holiday Park (with camping sites, cabins and villas plus a pool and playground), and even rustic B&Bs located in shearers’ quarters or even a woolshed.

What to do

The river offers many opportunities for fishing, waterskiing and boating on your own, or you can join a 3-day eco-cruise to explore the area, or a two hour jaunt on an authentic paddle steamer. Away from the water there is good golfing, a wildlife park, and many wineries to visit.

The 10-day long Renmark Rose Festival takes place every October, but roses are on view at Ruston’s Rose Garden and around town from September to July. Also in October is the National Hillman Car Rally.

Renmark offers as many options for dining as it does for sleeping. You will find everything from take-out meals to bakeries, restaurants and cafes, pub meals and bistro fare, up to elegant dining overlooking the river, all accompanied by fine local wines.

Orchards, vineyards and orange groves dot the area away from the river, leaving room for the cultivation of almonds and pistachios, vegetables and wheat and sheep, which feature in many of the fine eateries.
